National Citizens Service (NCS)
NCS (National Citizen Service) is an experience like no other. Designed for 16-17 year olds, NCS is a youth programme designed to give teens in the Bury and beyond the opportunity to mix with a new crowd, take on new challenges and in the process build lifelong friendships.
NCS is dedicated to providing a platform to make sure young people are heard and can engage with their community by completing passion projects, raising awareness and providing solutions to the issues they care about.
COVID Information
When lockdown hit young people across the UK were desperate to get involved with the COVID-19 recovery effort, but nearly half (44%) of 16-17 year olds were unsure of what routes were available to them. That's where NCS (National Citizen Service) and their Keep Doing Good campaign stepped in, offering teens the chance to pledge 16 hours each towards a national total of one million hours of volunteering and social action this summer.
Across the summer almost 500 young people across Greater Manchester have been inspired by the challenges faced in our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing towards a total of nearly 25,000 hours of voluntary work across the North West
