Online Support for Young People

Commissioned by Clinical Commissioning Groups within Bury, Kooth is a free, online counselling and emotional wellbeing platform which is available to young people aged 11-18 years across Bury. Kooth provides a safe and secure means of accessing mental health and wellbeing support designed specifically for young people.

Kooth offers young people the opportunity to have a text-based conversation with qualified counsellors who are available from 12noon to 10pm on weekdays and 6pm to 10 pm at weekends, every day of the year on a drop-in basis.

Young people can sign themselves up to Kooth and access support when they choose. Support can be gained not only through counselling but articles, forums, discussion boards and online activities. All content is age appropriate, clinically approved and fully moderated.

If you would like to know a bit more about Kooth you can ask any questions by clicking on the zoom link. The camera will be off to protect your identity. You will have the option of asking me any direct questions,  or use the chat facility in the zoom meeting room. With this you will type your query in the chat facility. You may want to ask how about any safety aspects of the site, I can also show you a live demonstration of Kooth. This will demonstrate the many ways you can get some support on the site,  either by a one to one live messaging chat with a counsellor, by messaging Kooth, or by using any of the peer support aspects of Kooth. This is in the form of magazine articles, discussion boards and live forums.
