Hopwood Hall
Hopwood Hall College and University Centre is a vocational college set across two unique campuses in Middleton and Rochdale. Just a stone’s throw from Bury, it offers more courses than ever and boasts some of the most modern training facilities in the region.
The college welcomes learners of all ages who are looking to gain the most sought-after skillsets. This includes school leavers, who come to study a range of vocational programmes such as the revolutionary T-Levels. These technical qualifications are the exciting new alternative to A-Levels, with Hopwood already leading the way as a provider.
In fact, more than 22% of the highest T-Level grades in the country were earned by students from Hopwood Hall in 2023.
The demand for courses is at an all-time high, especially as the college’s growing provision for learners aged 19+ continues to attract people from across Greater Manchester and beyond. Just some of the full-time and part-time pathways that are extremely popular with adults are Apprenticeships, Access, Higher Education, Flexible Learning and Online Study.
This explosion in demand is one of the reasons why the college has introduced a brand new free bus route that serves Bury. This conveniently travels through Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich to allow students complete ease when getting to the Middleton Campus.
This operates in addition to an existing free bus that runs from Tottington, through Bury town centre and Heywood to the Middleton Campus.

Meanwhile, the Rochdale Campus is only a 5-minute walk from the town’s bus station and Metrolink – making it extremely accessible by numerous transport links.
These campuses have really transformed in recent years to offer the most cutting-edge facilities and learning spaces. Just one example of this is the college’s Advanced Technology Centre, which recently underwent a massive multi-million-pound extension to ensure it remains one of the leading technical training facilities in the country.
Hopwood Hall is one of the top performing colleges in Greater Manchester, with its most recent Ofsted report finding it to be ‘Good’ and praising it for its strong contribution to skills-based training
